Community Guidelines

Effective Date: April 19, 2026  ·  Last Updated: April 19, 2026  ·  Version: 2.0

Our Promise and Yours

VibeConnect exists to help adults form meaningful human connections — friendships, mentorships, companions, and, where chosen, romantic relationships. To make that possible, we maintain a community where every member is safe, respected, and free to be themselves. These Community Guidelines (the "Guidelines") set the rules for participation in the Service. They apply to everyone and to every piece of content on the Service — profiles, photographs, messages, journal entries shared with others, reports, support tickets, in-app communications, and all interactions with another User, whether on-platform or, in certain cases described in Section 25, off-platform.

These Guidelines are part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms and Conditions. Words defined in the Terms have the same meaning here. Where these Guidelines conflict with the Terms, the Terms control unless the Guidelines expressly say otherwise.

You are responsible for your conduct. Your account is yours. If it is used to violate these Guidelines, you are answerable for that conduct, whether or not you were the person at the keyboard. Violations may result in content removal, warning, feature restriction, temporary suspension, permanent ban, loss of any paid Subscription, referral to law enforcement, and civil action.

1. Who may use VibeConnect

1.1 Eighteen or older — no exceptions

VibeConnect is an adults-only service. You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence if higher, to register or use the Service. When you create your account, you attest to your age by entering your date of birth.

1.2 No attempts to bypass the age gate

You may not falsify your date of birth, attempt to circumvent age screening, transfer your account to or operate it for a minor, or use another person's identity or date of birth. If we obtain knowledge, or reasonable basis to believe, that a User is under 18, we will immediately and permanently remove that account and the associated data, and we will preserve limited records as required by law, including for reporting child safety concerns to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or equivalent authorities in other jurisdictions.

1.3 Capacity and sanctions

You must be able to enter into a binding contract under the law of your residence, must not be on a sanctions or prohibited-persons list, and must not be located in a comprehensively embargoed jurisdiction. See Sections 3 and 22 of the Terms and Conditions.

1.4 Previously banned Users

If your account has been terminated for a violation of these Guidelines, you may not create a new account. Creating a second account after termination is itself a violation.

2. Authentic identity

VibeConnect runs on trust. That trust collapses the moment identities become fake, borrowed, or commercialized.

2.1 Be yourself

2.2 One account per person

2.3 No bots, automation, or scripted agents

2.4 No paid-promotion accounts

2.5 No borrowed or purchased accounts

Violations of Section 2 range from warning (minor profile inaccuracy) to permanent ban (impersonation, bot operation, ban evasion).

3. Safety — violence, threats, and incitement

We do not permit content that threatens violence against a person or group, glorifies violence, or seeks to organize or plan violence. This includes:

We distinguish between the above and statements of grievance, protest, frustration, reporting of news events, or artistic and educational commentary; those remain permissible so long as they do not cross into threatening, targeting, or incitement.

4. Safety — terrorism, extremism, and dangerous organizations

You may not use VibeConnect to:

Discussion, journalism, counter-speech, and scholarly or educational reference to these organizations and events are permitted and welcome.

5. Safety — minors (absolute prohibition)

This is the single hardest line on the Service.

5.1 No content involving minors

You may not post, share, upload, generate, solicit, transmit, or request any image, video, audio, text, drawing, animation, or synthetic content that sexualizes a minor (under 18) or depicts a minor (under 18) in a sexual, suggestive, or exploitative context. This prohibition is absolute and covers:

  • Photographic and video child sexual-abuse material (CSAM).
  • "Virtual," drawn, animated, AI-generated, or "loli/shota"-style imagery that sexualizes a minor. It does not matter whether the depicted character is fictional; it does not matter whether the character is labeled as "18."
  • Text-based erotica, roleplay, stories, or scripts sexualizing a minor.
  • Requests for, or transmission of, any of the above.

5.2 No grooming

You may not engage with, solicit personal information from, build trust with, arrange to meet, or send sexualized content to any person known or suspected to be under 18. You may not use the Service to locate, contact, or groom a minor.

5.3 Mandatory reporting

We will preserve and report CSAM and suspected grooming to NCMEC (or equivalent national authorities) and to law enforcement, consistent with U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions. If you become aware of CSAM or grooming on the Service, report it immediately via the in-app reporting tool and email privacy@vibeconnect.io with the subject line "URGENT — CHILD SAFETY."

Violations of this Section result in immediate and permanent ban, preservation of evidence, and referral to law enforcement.

6. Safety — human exploitation and trafficking

You may not use the Service to:

Survivors of trafficking who use the Service to seek connection, support, or community are welcome, and reporting or discussing trafficking to raise awareness is permitted.

7. Safety — suicide, self-harm, and eating disorders

We do not permit content that encourages, glorifies, celebrates, or provides detailed instructions for suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. This includes "pro-ana"/"pro-mia" content, "how-to" lethal-means content, and coordinated challenges that encourage self-harm.

We recognize that many Users have personal experience with these conditions and may discuss them openly, share recovery stories, or seek peer support. That is welcome. The line is between (a) honest discussion and support, which is allowed, and (b) promotion, instruction, or glorification, which is not.

If you are in crisis, please reach out — in the United States, dial or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline); in the UK, call 116 123 (Samaritans); find an equivalent service in your country. Our AI and messaging features are not a substitute for professional crisis support.

8. Dignity — hate speech

You may not attack, dehumanize, threaten, or call for exclusion of a person or group on the basis of a protected characteristic:

Prohibited conduct includes slurs, de-humanizing comparisons (e.g., to vermin, insects, disease), denials or mockery of genocides or historical atrocities, calls for segregation or expulsion, promotion of hate-group ideology, and "sorting" people into human-value tiers by a protected characteristic.

Serious, critical, or satirical discussion of culture, politics, religion, and identity is welcome. Counter-speech, reclamation of slurs by in-group members, quoting of hateful content to condemn it, and discussion of lived experience are permitted.

9. Dignity — bullying, harassment, and stalking

You may not:

Blocking a User is their right; bypassing a block by creating a new account, using another User's account, or contacting the person off-platform as a result of a VibeConnect interaction is prohibited.

10. Dignity — violent and graphic content

You may not post gratuitous violence, gore, animal cruelty, or content whose primary purpose is to shock or disgust. Limited discussion, reporting, or images tied to news, awareness, or safety are permitted with appropriate context; we may restrict visibility, apply warning labels, or remove where appropriate.

11. Privacy — personal information and doxxing

You may not collect, post, or threaten to post another person's private information, including:

You may not use VibeConnect to aggregate, cross-reference, or profile another person for harassment, exposure, or surveillance purposes.

12. Privacy — intimate images, NCII, and sexual deepfakes

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:

Violations result in immediate removal, permanent ban, evidence preservation, and referral to law enforcement. We will also participate in industry partnerships (such as StopNCII.org) to help prevent re-uploading.

If you are a survivor of NCII, sextortion, or a sexual deepfake, you may contact privacy@vibeconnect.io (subject line: "NCII / Deepfake Removal Request"). We will treat the request with priority and will assist with available takedown resources.

13. Sexual content and nudity

VibeConnect is not an adult-content platform. The following apply:

We reserve the right to remove sexual content that, while not illegal, is inconsistent with the Service's positioning or required policies of the mobile-application stores that distribute the Service.

14. Consent in communication

Every interaction on VibeConnect must be consensual.

15. Solicitation — commercial sex, sugar arrangements, and escorting

VibeConnect is not a marketplace. You may not:

This prohibition applies regardless of the legality of sex work in the User's local jurisdiction; it is a platform policy, not a statement on any broader debate. If you operate such a business elsewhere, VibeConnect is not the place to market it.

16. Regulated and prohibited goods

You may not use the Service to promote, offer, exchange, sell, solicit, or coordinate the sale or transfer of:

17. Fraud, scams, and financial exploitation

You may not use the Service to perpetrate or attempt to perpetrate any fraudulent scheme, including:

If another User tries to obtain money, gifts, cryptocurrency, or personal information from you, do not send anything, report the User, and block them. VibeConnect staff will never ask you for money, recovery codes, crypto, or account credentials.

18. Impersonation and catfishing

You may not:

Parody or clearly labeled roleplay is permitted only where it does not deceive another User and does not violate other Guidelines.

19. Spam, unsolicited contact, and platform manipulation

You may not:

20. Artificial intelligence and synthetic media

We use AI on the Service; so, increasingly, do Users. A few rules:

21. Intellectual property and third-party rights

Only post content that you own, have licensed, or are otherwise lawfully authorized to use. Do not post content that:

Rights-holders may submit infringement notices under the DMCA or equivalent regimes — see Section 21 of the Terms and Conditions.

22. Activities and real-world meetings

VibeConnect may facilitate in-person meetings and group activities. You should always:

You may not pressure another User to meet, to share alcohol or substances, to stay beyond what they are comfortable with, or to engage in any act without enthusiastic consent. You may not consume the Service while operating a motor vehicle or other machinery in a manner that endangers others. All interactions in the physical world, including any meeting you choose to attend, are at your own risk. See Section 11.3 of the Terms and Conditions.

23. Location and geotagging

You may not post another User's precise location or disclose your own precise home or work location in profile content. Use general city or region references where possible. Do not geotag other Users, their residences, workplaces, or private venues.

24. Reporting, blocking, and safety tools

24.1 Report

If you see content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, report it using the in-app reporting tool. Reasons currently supported include: harassment or bullying; inappropriate sexual content; spam or scam; underage user; offensive or hateful language; threatening behavior; impersonation; and "other." When you report, we receive the reported User's identifier, the reason you selected, any context you provide, and relevant system metadata.

24.2 Block

You may block another User at any time. Blocking prevents further matching and messaging. Prior messages remain as part of the record we need for moderation, audit, and compliance. Attempting to contact a User through a new account, through another User's account, or off-platform in consequence of a VibeConnect interaction is prohibited.

24.3 How we handle reports

We review reports in the order and priority most appropriate given the nature of the report. Child-safety, imminent-harm, and NCII reports receive the highest priority. We do not guarantee any particular response time, but we aim to acknowledge serious reports promptly. We may remove content, warn, restrict features, suspend, or terminate an account based on a single report or on a pattern of reports, using all information reasonably available to us.

24.4 False reports and weaponization of reporting

Do not file reports to harass, to remove competitors, to coerce, or to settle disputes. Coordinated false reporting, mass reporting for fraudulent purposes, and "Reviewbombing" are themselves violations.

24.5 Safety tips and resources

Safety resources are available in the app. If you are in imminent danger, contact your local emergency services.

25. Off-platform conduct

We generally enforce these Guidelines on content and conduct that occurs on the Service. However, off-platform conduct is relevant and may result in action against a VibeConnect account where:

We do not routinely monitor off-platform activity, but when credible evidence of off-platform harm is brought to us, we will act on it.

26. Cooperation with law enforcement

We cooperate with law-enforcement authorities through the responses and disclosures described in the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, including responding to valid legal process; reporting child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and equivalent authorities; and, in exigent circumstances involving imminent risk of death or serious physical harm, sharing information necessary to prevent harm as permitted by Applicable Law. We do not assist in the suppression of lawful speech or political dissent; requests we receive are evaluated against our own policies and against Applicable Law.

27. Enforcement — from warning to permanent ban

27.1 Proportional, context-sensitive enforcement

Where possible, we match the response to the severity, intent, harm, and history of the conduct. Our enforcement tools include (in roughly increasing severity):

  1. Content removal — we remove the offending content, and you may be notified.
  2. Label or restriction — content may be hidden, down-ranked, or shown behind a warning.
  3. Warning / coaching — we notify you that your conduct is prohibited and that further violations will result in action.
  4. Feature restriction — we temporarily remove access to specific features (for example, messaging, AI features, or Places Discovery).
  5. Temporary suspension — your account is disabled for a defined period.
  6. Permanent ban — your account and your eligibility to operate a VibeConnect account are terminated permanently.
  7. Loss of Subscription — paid Subscription entitlements may be revoked; refunds are governed by the Terms and the applicable app store.
  8. Referral to law enforcement — as described above.
  9. Civil action — we may pursue legal remedies where warranted.

27.2 Zero-tolerance categories

Certain categories trigger immediate and permanent ban, regardless of history: child sexual abuse material; grooming; non-consensual intimate imagery; sextortion; credible threats of violence; ban evasion after a ban for a zero-tolerance category; operation for trafficking.

27.3 Account security and preservation

On suspension or termination, we preserve evidence necessary for law-enforcement referrals, safety audits, and civil proceedings. We deactivate features and may retain anonymized or pseudonymized records even after account deletion, consistent with the Privacy Policy.

27.4 Repeat offenders

We track enforcement history across accounts (to the extent feasible and lawful) and apply stricter remedies to repeat offenders. Accumulating violations across otherwise-minor categories may produce the same outcome as a single severe violation.

28. Appeals

28.1 How to appeal

If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing privacy@vibeconnect.io with the subject line "Moderation Appeal — [your account email]." Describe the action taken and why you believe it was mistaken. We review appeals on a reasonable-best-efforts basis.

28.2 Scope

We consider appeals for: content removals, warnings, feature restrictions, suspensions, and terminations. We generally do not overturn actions taken for zero-tolerance violations (Section 27.2) absent clear evidence of error.

28.3 Outcome

Outcomes include: (a) reinstatement of content or account; (b) reduction of remedy (for example, ban → suspension); (c) confirmation of the original action. Appeals are decided by a reviewer different from the reviewer who issued the original action where reasonably feasible. The outcome of an appeal does not create any right to damages.

29. Moderation philosophy and transparency

30. Regional supplements

The following regional notes supplement, and do not replace, the rest of these Guidelines.

30.1 European Union and European Economic Area (Digital Services Act — Regulation (EU) 2022/2065)

30.2 United Kingdom — Online Safety Act 2023

We implement measures reasonable and proportionate to our scale and risk profile, including age-attestation at account creation, transparent reporting, user-empowerment tools (block, report, mute controls), and child-safety reporting obligations. Ofcom may contact us at privacy@vibeconnect.io.

30.3 India — IT Rules 2021

30.4 Australia — Online Safety Act 2021

We respond to take-down notices from the eSafety Commissioner regarding cyber-bullying material directed at Australian children, adult cyber-abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, and class-1 material (such as CSAM), within applicable statutory timeframes.

30.5 Brazil — Marco Civil da Internet; LGPD; ECA

We respond to judicial orders for content removal as required by Articles 19–21 Marco Civil, and we prioritize NCII take-downs under Article 21.

30.6 Germany — Network Enforcement / DSA transition

To the extent applicable, content reports under local law are reviewed within the timeframes required by law and enforced via our standard framework.

30.7 Canada

We report child sexual-abuse material to Cybertip.ca and cooperate with Canadian authorities as required.

30.8 California, Texas, and other U.S. states

Specific transparency, risk-assessment, and minor-protection laws (including California AB 2273, California SB 976, Texas SCOPE, and similar) are addressed through our adults-only operation (we do not knowingly operate a service for minors) and through the transparency mechanisms of these Guidelines.

31. Changes to these Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, in Applicable Law, or in the threat landscape. Material changes will be announced through in-app notice, push notification, or email to the account email address, with a reasonable notice period where practicable. The updated "Last Updated" date appears at the top of this document.
